Review and edit captured data

Check the information a job has extracted, and correct it if something's wrong.

As a job runs, its steps extract the information you've asked the workflow to collect — figures, decisions, names — and Contrata gathers it in one place: Captured Data.

Check what's been captured

Open a job and look at the Captured Data panel in the sidebar. Each field shows its name, a status such as Captured, Pending, Missing, Not produced, or Failed, its current value, and which step captured it. A field marked with an asterisk is required.

TipSee Stages and captured data to set up what a workflow collects in the first place.

Correct a value

  1. In Captured Data, select Edit data.
  2. Update any field's value. Changed fields are marked Edited so you can see what you've adjusted.
  3. Select Save changes to keep your edits, or Cancel to discard them and leave the original values in place.
NoteEditing here changes the job's record only — it doesn't rerun any steps, so use it to correct a value the workflow got wrong rather than to redo the work that produced it.

Common questions

Why does a field show as Missing?

The step responsible for it hasn't produced a value yet, or the workflow didn't reach that step. Once the step runs, the field updates automatically.

Can I add a field that isn't listed?

No. Captured Data only shows fields the workflow was set up to collect — add new ones from the workflow's Capture Workflow Data settings.
