Cancel and rerun jobs

Stop a job that's running, and know your options for running it again.

Updated 2026-07-23

Sometimes a job needs to stop before it finishes, or a workflow needs to run again with fresh input. Here's how to handle both.

The Cancel job confirmation dialog

Cancel a job

  1. Open the job and find Job Controls in the sidebar.
  2. Select Cancel job.
  3. Confirm in the dialog that appears — select Cancel job again, or Keep running to change your mind.

The job stops after its current action finishes, and its status changes to Cancelled. Any step data it already captured stays available to review — cancelling doesn't erase a job's history.

NoteCancel job only appears while a job is still able to be stopped — Completed, Failed, and already-Cancelled jobs don't show this option.

Run it again

Rerunning a job from a specific step isn't available yet. If a job needs to run again — because the source data has changed, or a Cancelled or Failed run needs redoing — start a fresh job instead, either by waiting for the workflow's next scheduled run or by triggering it again from wherever its trigger originates.

TipIf a job failed because of bad captured data, fix the value first — see Review and edit captured data — so the next run has the right information from the start.

Common questions

Does cancelling affect other jobs from the same workflow?

No. Each job is its own independent run, so cancelling one doesn't touch any others already in progress or queued.

Can I cancel a job that's Action required?

Yes. Cancelling stops it regardless of which step it's paused on, so you don't have to respond to a Human review step just to stop a job you no longer need.
