Knowledge sources and connections for agents

Give an agent context to work from, and check the connections its skills depend on.

Updated 2026-07-23

An agent's answers are only as good as what it can see. Two sections on its Overview tab control that: Knowledge Sources for context, and Connection Status for the tools it's allowed to use.

Attach knowledge sources

  1. Open the agent and go to Overview.
  2. In Knowledge Sources, select Add Knowledge and choose from your available sources.
  3. Remove one at any time — this only affects the agent, not the source itself.
NoteSources added from inside a specific workflow show a lock icon labelled "Managed in workflow" — remove them from the workflow's canvas instead.

Check its connections

Every Skill that needs a tool shows up under Connection Status as Matched or Needs valid connection, checked against your Connections. Select Refresh after connecting or fixing something to recheck without leaving the page.

Where more than one of your connections could satisfy a skill, choose which account the agent should use.

TipIf a skill keeps showing Needs valid connection, the connection may be missing a required action — see Fix connection issues.

Common questions

Does removing a knowledge source delete it?

No. It only stops this agent from using it. The source itself stays available to attach to other agents.

Can two agents share the same connection?

Yes. Multiple agents can be matched to the same connected account, as long as it has the actions each of them needs.
