Add an agent
Browse pre-built agents or start building a custom one from the Agents library.

Agents are the AI team members that carry out work inside your workflows. Add one from the Agents library, whether you want a ready-made specialist or a custom teammate you design yourself.

Browse the library
- Go to Agents. Use the search box, the Pre-built / Custom type filter, and the Name A–Z / Most used sort to find what you're looking for.
- Select Add New Agent to open the picker.
- Search the list of pre-built agents, or select Build Agent to design your own — see Build a custom agent.
Add a pre-built agent
- Select an agent from the list.
- Contrata checks it against your existing Connections and shows each required one as Matched or Needs valid connection.
- Where more than one of your connections could work, choose which account to use.
- Once every required connection is matched, select Add Agent.
NoteAn agent showing Needs valid connection can't be added until you connect the tool it needs — see Add a connection — then select Refresh to check again.
TipAfter adding a pre-built agent, open it from the Agents page to review its objective, skills, and knowledge sources, and to add collaborators who should help manage it.
Common questions
Can I add the same pre-built agent twice?
Yes. Add it again if you want a second copy configured with a different connection or set of collaborators.
What if none of my connections match?
Connect the right tool first — see Add a connection — then come back and refresh, or choose a different agent that matches what you already have connected.
