Add a connection
Link a tool your organisation uses so agents and workflows can work in it.
Updated 2026-07-23
A connection is a secure, authorised account for a tool your team already uses — SharePoint, Gmail, Slack, and others — so agents can work in it on your behalf.

Connect a tool
- Go to Connections and select Add Connection.
- Search or filter by category to find the tool, select it, then select Continue.
- Give it a Connection Name if you don't want the default, then choose its Allowed Actions — select at least one, or use Select all.
- Select the connect button to sign in. This opens the provider's own sign-in window, so your credentials never pass through Contrata.
NoteEach action is marked View only, View and make changes, or Can delete or replace data — pick the narrowest set your agents actually need.
Once you've signed in, the connection appears in your Connections list with a Status of Active.
TipIf you already have an account connected for a tool, its name and status appear as you pick a connection type — handy for checking whether you need a new one at all.
Common questions
Can I add more than one account for the same tool?
Yes. Add it again with a different Connection Name to tell the accounts apart — useful for a shared inbox alongside your own.
What if I don't know which actions to allow?
Start with fewer, narrower actions. You can always add more from the connection's Actions tab later — see Fix connection issues.
